ME

Galen Newton is the head of digital and social content for Stun Creative,  PromaxBDA’s 2018 Global Excellence Agency of the Year. There, he leads a team of digital and social specialists who develop, produce and execute campaigns for major entertainment and consumer brands including NBCUniversal, Viacom, Turner, Sony, NFL, Pepsi & Mattel.

Before joining Stun, Newton led short form video strategy for FOX. There, he shepherded new processes to exploit the explosion of social video as a marketing tool and helped the team re-imagine video production for the social space.

He led creative on the network’s first digital and affiliate after show for Empire. He also led creative for the network’s first skippable ad campaign on YouTube (Grandfathered), FOX’s first custom video ads on Snapchat (Scream Queens, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Last Man on Earth and Grease Live!), and the first custom video ads for Instagram (Empire).

Newton spent seven years at Bravo Digital Media from 2005 to 2013 overseeing digital video production and distribution for the network’s suite of O&O digital platforms. He was part of the Emmy award-winning team behind the network’s ambitious transmedia initiative, Top Chef: Last Chance Kitchen. Through strategic planning, he helped drive seven consecutive years of double digit growth in digital video streams for the network.

 

Newton is a graduate of the University of Iowa, a Matthew Shepard Scholarship recipient and currently lives in Los Angeles, California.
